Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) has visited the department on several occasions for (re)accreditation of the BSc Chemical Engineering program since 2007. Assuring the quality standards of the PEC, the intake sessions, 2007 to 2013, were accredited on level I. Since 2014, the department has shifted its education system, following the guidelines of the HEC and the university, from conventional to the student-centred teaching/learning approach also known as the outcome-based education (OBE) system. For this purpose, the department established a continuous quality enhancement (QEC) cell and tasked to develop, monitor, and control the quality standards. During its last visit in March 2020, the PEC team has granted three year accreditation (intake sessions of 2016 to 2018) on level II.
